In 2005 I became a Mom when I adopted my daughter and that was the turning point of my life. I realized that I needed to make a change as I tipped the scale at 363 pounds. I lied to myself and told myself I was “big boned “but the reality was I was a fast food junkie. I had gastric bypass and that was the beginning of my change.
Surgery was just a tool but the real work had to be done inside my mind.
I lost 150 pounds and kept off 130 pounds for 16 years. I found myself in a domestic violence situation and dug deep to get myself out of that but didn’t stop there as I wanted to improve my life forever.
I joined CrossFit and that put me back on to a healthy path, which inspired me to do more. I realized that weight loss isn’t about one thing such as a diet or going to the gym but rather a complete “internal” package. I applied my years of work in the medical field to my passion and sat for the International Sports Science Association Personal Trainer certification exam.
I opened Balance Within Fitness and want to empower clients by helping them identify their strengths, weaknesses & trigger points while finding the balance within to live a happier and healthy life.
